A Typical Day With Us
Wake up to your choice of hot or continental breakfast. Your guide has prepared the boat with refreshments and the fishing supplies needed for a fabulous day fishing Esperanza Inlet or Nootka Sound. Our location is central to both areas, which insures your trip is a success! Enjoy your chosen packaged lunch and snacks selections between reeling in the fun all day. It's your trip, so you may bait, set and land your catch. Guides are for your assistance, safety and local knowledge. Your guide will work with you and the tides to target your selected species or safari adventure. All our guides are very experienced and enjoy sharing their knowledge with enthusiastic guests.
Meanwhile, the lodge staff is busy preparing for your arrival and dinner. Rooms are cleaned daily, towels hung, beds made and linens changed every 3 nights for environmental considerations. However, requests for fresh linens and towels will certainly be respected.
As you and other guests arrive back to the lodge facility, the day's catch is cleaned and stored. The chef has prepared appetizers which are part of our traditional happy hour. This time allows guests to mingle and share stories of the day's events. Enjoy the hot tub, sauna, kayak, trails or Internet at your leisure.
Dinner is buffet service enabling you to choose either land entrée and/or fish entrée with choice of veggies, starches, salads etc. Also offered is a seafood selection of prawns, oysters or maki sushi. Meals are accompanied by our house wine selection of Valpolicella and Pinot Blanco; our red/white wines respectively. Dessert is served at your table with tea/coffee.
Gather on the patio deck or around the fire pit to watch the sunset with friends and family. Or relax in the hot tub and/or sauna, take a peaceful kayak, leisurely walk the island trails, or share your day with someone via the internet. When ready, retire to your well supplied room with firm mattress, non-allergenic duvet comforters and fireplace. Battery Conversion supplies any electrical needs throughout the night. The silence and fresh air encourages deep and restful sleep, assuring another day of unforgettable adventures. Our casual atmosphere, attentive staff and hospitable hosts contribute to fulfill your best days spent in the wilderness.
Esperanza Inlet, the new frontier on the west coast of Vancouver Island is consistently the best fishing grounds in British Columbia in July and August. Coincidentally, this happens to be the best weather months to be on the water. It's a win, win situation. Check out our "Fishing" here.

In just over the past 200 years, Nootka Island is the location of the first encounter between the two civilizations and hosted the resource developments of the logging, mining and fishing industries.
